A few weeks back I took a trip closer to home to photograph the Cooyar Show Campdraft competition. Like some of my past personal projects I gravitate towards groups of people that come together to showcase their talents, skills or hobbies. Stepping into their world is always so fascinating and it gives me a small glimpse into what they are passionate about. And like the other projects, we set up a makeshift studio. This was positioned just outside the horse ring. We would approach riders, still sweaty, tired, and on their horses to see if they were interested in having their portrait taken. I should also mention it was about 1000 degrees. Thanks to all the riders who took the time to dismount and sit on an old oil drum.
